Privacy Policy

Effective 3 September 2026

Cutting Corners is made by Cutting Corners, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Cutting Corners game and the cuttingcorners.app website collect, why, and what choices you have.

We built Cutting Corners to be simple. We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or photos.

1. What we collect

We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, photos, contacts, precise location, or any information that directly identifies you. There are no accounts and no sign-in.

Collected automatically when you play:

What Why Through
Device type, operating system version, language, country-level region So the game runs correctly and we can see which devices to support Google Firebase Analytics
An app instance identifier — a random ID assigned to your installation, not to you To count players and understand which levels are too hard or too easy Google Firebase Analytics
Crash and error diagnostics To find and fix bugs Google Firebase Crashlytics
Game progress — levels completed, scores, settings To save your place in the game Google Firebase
Confirmation that a purchase was made To unlock what you paid for Apple
Ad requests and ad interactions — which ads were shown, whether you tapped them To deliver ads, cap how often you see them, and pay for the game Our advertising partners

Advertising. The game shows ads served by third-party advertising partners. To deliver an ad, they receive limited technical data — device type, operating system version, coarse region, and an ad request.

The first time you play, iOS asks whether you allow Cutting Corners to track you across other apps and websites. If you allow tracking, our advertising partners may also use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show you ads chosen based on your interests and activity elsewhere. If you do not allow tracking, or if you are in a region where we ask for consent first and you decline, you will see non-personalized ads — chosen based on the game you are playing, not on anything about you. The game works the same either way.

The website. cuttingcorners.app is hosted by Cloudflare, which records standard server logs for security and performance. The site sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. If you email us, we receive whatever you put in the email; our mailbox is hosted by Google.

We want to be straightforward about one thing: identifiers like the app instance ID and the advertising identifier do not contain your name, but privacy laws in the US and Europe still treat them as personal information. That is why they are listed here.

2. Children

Cutting Corners is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has been playing and that we hold information tied to their installation, email help@cuttingcorners.app and we will delete it promptly. Please include the device the game is installed on so we can find the right records.

3. How we use information

Only for these purposes:

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with data brokers. We do not build advertising profiles about you ourselves. If you allow tracking, our advertising partners may use your advertising identifier for interest-based advertising under their own privacy policies — see section 4 and section 6.

4. Who we share it with

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing what it does with the data it processes for us.

5. How long we keep it

Analytics and crash data are retained for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically. Game progress is kept while the game is installed. Deleting the game removes the local copy; email us to have any stored progress deleted from our side. Our advertising partners keep ad data under their own retention policies.

6. Your choices and rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, and objection under the GDPR, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown. If you are in California, you have rights of access and deletion under the CCPA/CPRA. Showing you personalized ads may count as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; declining tracking as described above is how you opt out, and we do not "sell" personal information. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.

7. Where data is processed

We are based in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EU or UK, our providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Security

We use reputable providers and standard protections, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but there is very little to expose here — we hold no names, emails, or payment details.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, post a notice in the game.
